Abolfazl Aqdasi from the northern province of Gilan is representing the Islamic Republic in the international Quranic contest.
He went to Algeria’s embassy in Tehran on Tuesday to answer the questions of the panel of judges online, according to the Quranic affairs center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.
The international Quran contest kicked off on Monday and will conclude today, February 8.
Launched in 2004, Algeria’s international Quran contest is held annually on memorization of the Holy Quran with the participation of young people under the age of 25.
Algeria’s Awqaf and religious affairs ministry annually organizes the competition, which is attended by Quran memorizers from different countries.
Like the previous edition, this year’s event has been held virtually.
Last year, memorizer of the entire Quran Mohammad Laeini competed for Iran in the contest.
